Weaving Consultant
| ~~Judith Krone - Weaving Consultant for The Thread Project |
In 1992, as part of the Adopt-A-Native-Elder program, I adopted a Navajo grandmother, who was a weaver. Meeting her and her family inspired me to enroll in a weaving program at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, where I teach weaving today.
I knew the first time I sat at a loom that it was where I was supposed to be.
The shuttle creates a life rhythm, a heartbeat, my heartbeat. It is who I am. Judith Powell Krone, Weaver. My weaving is a prayer. Everyone who touches my life, makes me the weaver that I have become. Their stories become part of me and part of my art. Weaving my portion of the first World Cloth for The Thread Project: One World, One Cloth is my prayer to the universe for wholeness and grace.
Judith graduated with a M.F.A. from the School of Art and Design at Georgia State University. She has won numerous awards and has exhibited her work throughout Georgia and North Carolina. |
