Ariadne's Prayer Indigo Cloth

~~Carolyn Collins  -
Weaver Carolyn Collins has volunteered, not once but twice, to help weave a panel of the World Cloths. The first time Carolyn, from Winona, MN, helped students and faculty to weave a panel of Threaded Harmony. This time Carolyn warped a loom in her home and helped Khoua and Song, Hmong women; Bay, a Vietnamese woman; and Emma, a Philippino woman, weave a panel of Ariadne's Prayer. It was in the mountains of Laos that Khoua learned how to weave from her grandmother. As a young girl, Khoua wove cloth to make clothes for her family. Song watched her grandmother weave in Laos. For Bay and Emma, weaving was a new experience. As the women worked together on the panel, they also spent time baking breads for their families and enjoying each others friendship.
