Threaded Harmony Red Cloth
| ~~Evelyn Bunting Tuller - |
How very special it is to me to be asked to weave a panel on a red warp for Threaded Harmony. Nine years ago, I wove a red memorial banner from the red yarns I inherited from the knitting stash of my oldest son, Larry, who died of AIDS.
After Larry's death, I joined my church choir because I found one cannot cry and sing at the same time. I preferred to sing in harmony with my friends who knew and remembered Larry.
Weaving has been my passion for 20 years. With degrees in Clothing & Textiles and Fiber Arts, I have woven my path and journeyed through teaching batik to children, establishing a Student Art Gallery in San Francisco and silk-screening my own line of children’s clothing. In 1984, I opened my Moon & Sixpence Weaving Studio for teaching and the production of hand-woven rugs and Healing Blankets. I am currently president of San Juan County Textile Guild and a member of Whidbey Weavers Guild. I am pleased to gather my fiber community and the community at large to participate in weaving a panel of Threaded Harmony at the San Juan County Fair in August 2004. I am excited that our community will become a tangible part of the world community through our woven threads. |
