Threaded Harmony Red Cloth
| ~~Deborah Brandon - |
I was born in England, grew up in Israel, and am presently a mathematician at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Weaving compliments my mathematics, especially the technical side, which has segued into writing the 'Textile Techniques From Around the World' column for Weaving A Real Peace (WARP). (More) In addition to weaving, I enjoy demonstrating spinning, felting, dyeing and weaving to children.
I am excited to enlist the help of my nine year-old daughter Sarah Anne Hrusa to help me weave a panel of Threaded Harmony. This experience will be something we can always look back on. While weaving, I like reflecting on where the threads are from and the people who send them. I am one who prefers to work in the background, so weaving a panel for The Thread Project: One World, One Cloth provides me an opportunity to make an impact in the world by quietly weaving threads of hope and goodwill. |
