Lienzo Luminoso (Cloth of Light) Yellow Cloth
| ~~Gail Campbell - |
I am a teacher in Western Australia with a visual arts degree in textiles. I found your web page on the internet while browsing for information for one of my school classes. After reading about your Project, I thought weaving a panel for one of the World Cloths would be a great endeavour for me and other members of the Handweavers, Spinners & Dyers Guild of Western Australia.
The Guild is a non-profit organization, in existence since 1957, with a membership of approximately 150 people. Affiliated groups are scattered throughout the country and metropolitan areas. Members are interested in spinning, dyeing, and weaving (which ranges from Kumihimo weaving to tapestry weaving). The aim of the Guild is to share knowledge of and promote interest in these crafts and to advance these arts by discussion and exhibition of work.
Participating in the Project helped our Guild to think outside the circle of Western Australia and join internationally with people to inspire others. I find the secret to life is giving to others; weaving this panel was our gift and blessing. Often when you bless others, you are doubly blessed. |
